WTTS Top 10 Power Rankings: June 2018

With THREE full months in the books, the top three teams continue to be the Red Sox, Astros, and Yankees, and it isn’t by much. All three team’s win percentage (WPCT) range by a mere .023 points. As the season continues, the Yankees and Red Sox will face off 10 more times, while the Astros only have THREE games remaining against one of these rivals. That team? The Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in September.

The biggest jump of the month were the Cleveland Indians who went from being ranked 10th in the month May to the SIX spot this month. They’ve accomplished this feat by having the EIGHTH best record in the by June’s end. This, after not ranking in the top 10 by the end of May. Also, they ranked SIXTH in Rdiff by the end of June, compared to NINTH by the end of May.

Finally, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers have joined the mix. Both teams finished tied in the rankings, but the Dodgers edged out the D’Backs in Pythagorean Win-Loss (PythW-L) or expected record based on Rdiff.
