Nick Francona Talks MLB Corruption and How to Fix it

In part two of this conversation, Nick Francona recounts instances of corruption in MLB and how he hopes to help in fixing it.

As the Assistant Director of Player Development for MLB teams like Los Angeles Dodgers, Nick Francona bore witness to multiple criminal acts in regards to the recruitment of international players. Much of the evidence was laid out in a report released in Sports Illustrated last fall, but here Francona delves much deeper.

In this interview, Francona also details the fall out between he and the Director of Player Development for the Dodgers at the time, Gabe Kapler. From the mishandling of multiple allegations of sexual assault on behalf of minor leaguers to a feud between both men which stems from insensitive comments Kapler made about Francona’s military history.

Finally, we delve deeper into the hypocrisy in MLB in regards to how they treat military families. Also, how their non-transparency regarding proceeds from military-themed apparel worn by MLB teams is a problem.
