After five seasons of unanimous critical acclaim, Orphan Black closed in 2017. Until then, the series had been dedicated to examining the ethical connotations of cloning (and other ways of changing our existence through science), introducing the general public to a vibrant Tatiana Maslany that years later he would get a role in Marvel through She-Hulk: Lawyer She-Hulk. In this next series (to be released on 17 of August on Disney +), Maslany plays the lawyer Jessica Walters, and as the launch approaches, a spin-off of Orphan Black is taking shape that would expand the phenomenon. We confirmed its existence last April, titled Orphan Black: Echoes. Destined for AMC, it would have as creator Anna Fishk (arrival of Fear the Walking Dead) Already John Fawcett as main director, after having served as showrunner of the original series. Until now they were the only names that were known, but Collider has just echoed that Echoes has signed Kristen Ritter as one of its protagonists. Ritter is no stranger to the network, as she played Jane Margolis on AMC’s flagship series, breaking badto later succeed on Netflix as Jessica Jones.

Ritter played this Marvel investigator in the aforementioned Jessica Jonesbecoming the most celebrated figure in Netflix’s agreement with the House of Ideas along with Daredevil from charlie cox. They would both work together The DefendersAnd while there appear to be no plans for Jones to go the Daredevil way for an addition to the MCU, Ritter has agreed to join the Orphan Black spinoff. Echoes’ plan is to return to some of the metaphysical issues of the mother series, setting itself in the near future to give prominence to four women who are investigating their identity. The idea is that Orphan Black: Echoes will appear in its first season of ten episodes , and that these arrive at AMC throughout 2023.
