The rest of the ‘Star Wars’ series that are underway, the agenda of Pedro Pascal and the creators, and the absence of Gina Carano, among other potential reasons for the start of filming to have to wait.

Although after the end of the second season of The Mandalorian the possibility that we could meet Din Djarin again in the last month of 2022 was put on the table, it seems that the premiere of the new installment of the first live-action series of Star Wars will be delayed considerably longer than “anticipated.” Note the quotes, however, because the calculations were just speculation and the streaming platform had never gotten wet about a certain date.

According to the Collider to its sources, the production of season 3 of The Mandalorian will not begin until the end of 2022 or even in the first months of 2022. Thus, the new episodes would not be ready for its Disney + debut until at least next year and rather the last quarter of the year. The wait is long but the reason for the “delay” of the series starring Pedro Pascal is something that the most loyal Star Wars fans have to understand since it is due to the expansion of the franchise itself.

As Collider points out, one of the sound stages, where the filming of The Mandalorian is usually carried out, is currently being used by Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series starring Ewan McGregor again in the shoes of the famous Jedi Master. Likewise, Andor is also underway, starring Diego Luna, while the ‘spin-off’ of The Mandalorian The Book of Boba Fett has just finished filming for its debut, this one and if nothing prevents it, in December of 2022.

There are other factors that influence The Mandalorian’s agenda beyond the rest of the Disney + series. Without going any further than Pedro Pascal, who is currently part of the cast of the HBO series The Last of Us, inspired by the homonymous video game, the ex from Game of Thrones and Narcos is a sought-after actor who is often sued and has ongoing projects on the table. Similarly, with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, creators of the Din Djarin series, also working on The Book of Boba Fett, the normal thing is that both titles do not overlap, so that they can devote all their attention to each one of them. And finally, the absence of Gina Carano, since doing without a regular character must inevitably have consequences in the scripts and potential plots.

Although the premiere of The Mandalorian is delayed, fans of the most famous galactic franchise have more than enough reason to rub their hands at the many projects that will arrive in stages at Disney +.
