“The Witcher” Season 2 should undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated series at all. It is less than two years ago that Henry Cavill first sliced his way through the ranks of his enemies as the witcher Geralt von Rivia, not too narrowly throwing around vulgar expressions and starting a wild love affair with Yennefer (Anya Chalotra).
The fans were initially more than skeptical whether Cavill could do justice to the role. After all, until his meeting with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, he didn’t even know that CD Projekt RED’s “The Witcher” RPG series is based on the novels of the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. A picture of him naked in the hot tub later, concerns were swept away and Cavill enjoyed the greatest popularity of his career.
The shooting of the second season, which like many other projects had to be interrupted several times due to the corona pandemic, ended in spring. Since then, fans have been waiting eagerly for the first video material. And this is what Netflix now delivered as part of Geeked Week :
The focus of the twelve-second short teaser is clearly on Cirilla from Cintra, better known as Ciri. She is played in the series by Freya Allan. Even if it is currently not really clear what the plot of the second season looks like, one can assume that Geralt will bring it to Kaer Morhen, the old fortress of the witchers. Vesemir (Kim Bodnia), the oldest of all sorcerers, should appear there.
The second season of ” The Witcher ” is scheduled to be made available via Netflix at the end of 2022. Maybe in December, as well as the first season in 2019.
Big surprise: WitcherCon in July 2022
The already expected teaser wasn’t even the big surprise at the end of Geeked Week, but the announcement of the WitcherCon, which should take place on July 9, 2022 :

So what can you expect from the WitcherCon? A new “Witcher” RPG most likely not. Maybe there will be a skin add-on for existing games to incorporate Cavill’s likeness. But it is quite possible that a first real trailer for the second season of the Netflix series will then be revealed.
