New faces are incorporated into the first spin-off of Game of Thrones that is already a reality on HBO. The House of the Dragon will be set 300 years before the events narrated in the unforgettable series and will introduce us to new members of the Targaryen family as well as other great houses of Westeros that one day played a great role in the political affairs of the Seven Kingdoms. Thus, we must forget about witnessing a role, at least prominent, of the Starks or the Lannisters, and prepare to learn more about the ancestors of the iconic Khaleesi played by Emilia Clarke and the Hightower, the other great house that will star in the New series.
Now, HBO has announced two new faces joining the cast of the long-awaited fiction. The two are women and the two will be playing the youth versions of the two female protagonists of the series, Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, which confirms an aspect that promises to be essential in the ‘spin-off’ and that until now we did not know.

Taking into account that both new signings have been officially announced, through a press release, and as fundamental members of the cast, we can assume that the appearances of both protagonists in their young version will not be something specific to an episode, but rather It seems that it will be common for The House of the Dragon to flashbacks to the past and narrate the story between two times, although its present timeline is prominent.
Actress Milly Alcock (Twilight) will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in her youth. The first-born of the king and a masterful dragon rider, Rhaenyra was born with all the attributes possible to occupy the coveted Iron Throne, save for the fact that she is a woman. Thus, it will be his uncle Daemon Targaryen who is designated as heir and that conflict will also be the starting point of an inevitable civil war that marked the history of Westeros and is known as the Dance of Dragons.
Rhaenyra is one of the most important figures of the ‘spin-off’ of Game of Thrones and is played by the actress of the already canceled Truth Seekers Emma D’Arcy. For his part, the person in charge of interpreting Daemon is the charismatic and famous British interpreter Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who) and, although we can hope that his youth version will also appear in the series, it has not yet been announced who will be in charge of embodying the role.
The second signing is that of Emily Carey (Wonder Woman) as Alicent Hightower in her younger years. Daughter of Otto Hightower, Hand of the King, Alicent is the most beautiful woman in the Seven Kingdoms. Raised in the Red Keep, she has mastered the courtly arts while moving like a fish in water amid political intrigue. Her adult version is played by Olivia Cooke, while the role of her father, Otto Hightower, will be played by Rhys Ifans.
