Fans all around the world are waiting with fingers crossed for the upcoming third season of this massive hit series. The Orville is a fusion of several genres. It can be classified as a comedy-drama and at the same time be categorized as a science fiction television series. As of the latest reports, The Orville is in production. This season of the series saw a shift from Fox to Hulu as its network of releases. 

The directors of the third season are Seth MacFarlane and Jon Cassar. The filming had already started by October 2019 but got ceased by March 2020. Almost half of the season got filmed but the filming process got thwarted due to the COVID-19 situation. The production process again proceeded in December 2020. Unfortunately, the process got delayed again in January 2022 due to the COVID upsurge. After a short pause, filming began again on February 2022.

Release Date

As per the reports the series is expected to finish filming by September 2022. After the filming, there are post-production procedures, a procedure that might take a considerable amount of time. This season will be designed with high-quality visuals. All these complicated procedures will be finished and the series will be released in 2022. This season will see a new format of 11 episodes in place of 14 episodes with each episode being extended by few minutes.

Probable Plot

Possibly, the first episode of this season will start from the cliffhanger ending of the previous season. It may express the Union’s reaction to Kaylons’ incursion. Maybe the Mercer’s team will come to a pact with the Krill people. This season will be heavily relying on the ‘Star Trek’ universe. In this season we will find experiments associated with artificial life forms.
